The Accredited Practising Dietitians behind Healthful Nutrition.

Hilda Yan

The most important factors for improving your health are knowledge, consistency and ongoing support.

Hilda Yan

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD, AN)

Hilda is a friendly and non-judgemental dietitian who graduated with a Bachelor of Nutrition & Dietetics with Honours from Monash University in 2015. She loves to work with clients to use food and nutrition to improve their health and wellbeing.

Hilda unfortunately has either a personal or family history of difficulty losing weight, Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart disease & Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). She is open to sharing her personal experiences and wants her patients to feel comfortable and supported in their journey to improved health. She doesn't believe in telling you what to do, but instead wants to educate you and provide you with the knowledge and confidence to manage your own health. She will assess your situation and work with you to develop a plan to meet your goals. You will not get a generic handout of the food pyramid!

Hilda doesn't believe in restrictive diets or eating healthy foods 100% of the time. She believes it is important to find the balance in enjoying physical health, whilst still being able to enjoy your favourite foods and the social aspect of food. She is passionate about using her own past experiences, combined with her extensive training, work experience and the latest scientific evidence to assist all of her patients to have a healthy lifestyle without restriction and guilt. Hilda has a strong family of diabetes and is motivated to prevent developing diabetes herself. She has extensive personal experience in the area and has worked with endocrinologists and diabetes educators in Southeast Endocrine Associates (Narre Warren) to assist many patients to reverse their diabetes, lose weight and reduce or stop their diabetes medications.

Hilda also has an interest in using evidence-based natural supplements, where appropriate, to improve health and wellbeing of her patients.

Hilda is also able to consult in Cantonese and Mandarin (although English is her preferred language).

Outside of work, Hilda enjoys being a mum to her toddler son, crocheting, listening to true crime podcasts, walking her Samoyed dog and volunteering at her church and local community.

Hilda will be going on maternity leave from early July 2026 and will return to work in February 2027. Anna Tiesenhausen will be looking after all of Hilda's patients whilst she is on leave (see below for more information about Anna).

Anne is an experienced Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) with over 7 years experience, who completed a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Flinders University.
